Easy Shakshuka Recipe

What makes this recipe so simple? You can just dump all of your ingredients in, crack an egg on top and have a healthy meal in minutes.

Want to make it even easier? Use fresh or frozen pre-chopped ingredients and make this dish in minutes.

This is also a great “clean out the fridge” dish. Have some leftover vegetables or meat? Throw 'em in! This recipe can be easily customized to fit all tastes :-)

Prot-tip:

  • This makes a great dinner or lunch meal as well :-)

  • Add chorizo or sausage for all of the meat lovers out there!

How to know when you egg is done cooking?

  • The egg whites should be mostly opaque

  • Jiggle the pan, the eggs should wiggle a bit for a runny yolk.

  • Cook longer for a hard yolk. You can carefully use the back of a spoon to test the doneness of the yolk.

  • The eggs will continue to cook even after you have taken it off of the heat. Take the eggs off of the heat if you feel like your eggs are close to being done.

What should I serve this with?

  • This dish is great as is! Just find a fork and dig in :-)
  • It is traditionally served withs ome crunchy bread or pita. I love this whole wheat pita bread to dip into the golden yolk!
