Yes, this recipe goes great with any firm white fish such as grouper, Mahi Mahi, Sea Bass, or Halibut.

When the fish flakes easily with a fork. Cook the red snapper for approximately 4 minutes on each side.

Is the dish spicy?

The cayenne pepper does add a bit of heat to the dish. You can always remove this ingredient for a spicy free fish.

Peach Salsa
  • 1 1/2 cup diced peaches (2 large peaches)
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup diced red bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup diced avocado
  • 1 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • juice from 1 lime
  • Salt to taste

  • 4 4-oz Red Snapper Filets
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp tyhme
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt (add more/less to taste)

How to cook Blackened Red Snapper

  1. Make the salsa: Mix all salsa ingredients in a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Make the blackened seasoning: Add cayenne pepper, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, oregano, and salt into a medium-sized bowl.
  3. Dry fish with a paper towel.
  4. Generously coat the fish with blackened seasoning.
  5. Heat Olive Oil in pan on medium-high heat.
  6. Cook fish for approximately 4 minutes on each side. The fish is cooked when it easily flakes with a fork.
  7. Top cooked fish with peach salsa.
  8. Enjoy! This dish goes great with asparagus and rice!
